"The World will take you at your own valuation. Your body will take you at your own valuation. Your business will take you at your own valuation. For the value you really put upon yourself is the one that manifests." -Emmet Fox
The first thing I do when I get a new pad is add my contact information and an offer of a $20 reward for it's safe return--if lost and found. I started doing this about 7 years ago and I haven't lost or misplaced a journal since. I have to admit at first it wasn't easy. "Offer a reward?" "Can't I just rely on the kindness of strangers?" These were questions that the idea, to offer a reward, stirred up in my mind. When I realized that the underlying truth these questions represented was that I did not value my creativity, I boldly began writing in the $20 reward. So, when you get your new pad or journal and you're contemplating your very first entry, I recommend your name, contact info, and a reward. The question you ask yourself shouldn't be, "Is IT worth it?", but rather, "Is what I'm about to create in this new pad worth it?"

I always carry a small pad and often prescribe it.
Small things make a big difference. Doodle and sketch. Having a pen and something to draw on at meetings prevents me from saying or doing things I'd regret.
Doodle, doodle, doodle, it draws out the best. |
