"Hey Darrell!! Wanted to say thanks again for enlightening Tori and me about the wonders of joy-naling! We have been doing it each day since the workshop and it has immensely helped us both. I look forward to each new day and have stopped should’ing myself. It feels so great. I even log all my wins in the calendar like you showed us. Before, it was so hard to remember all the good things. And now it’s so easy and fulfilling to see everything accomplished each day no matter how small. Thanks so much, this is really life-changing stuff!! ♥️" –Indiana Fawcet, Owner Chobo Studios, (Attended the Workshop at the Los Angleles Public Library, John C. Fremont Branch).
Zine Making with Recycled Materials
Have you ever wanted to be an author but you didn’t know how to get started? Learn how to create a do-it-yourself 8-page zine that can be easily mass produced with a copy machine. Participants will use a combination of original and appropriated images and/or text to share ideas, inspire others, encourage creativity and make connections. Zine topics include, poetry, cartoon, short stories, top 10 lists, and how to guides. This workshop is a fun way to engage even the most reluctant authors and creators. At the conclusion of this workshop Darrell will share how participants can submit a copy of their completed zine to be included in the Los Angeles Public Library’s Zine Collection. This means that anyone with a library card will be able to check out their published work just like all the other great books available at the library.
